Tottenham Hotspur loanee Eric Dier's move to Bayern Munich will become permanent in the summer, it has been claimed.

The 30-year-old defender found first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Premier League side this season before joining the Bavarian outfit on loan from Spurs this winter for the rest of the season.

The deal also included an option to extend for another 12 months.

According to The Athletic, Bayern has now triggered the option, which will keep Dier at the club until June 2025.

Dier's contract with Spurs is set to expire at the end of this season, thereby allowing Bayern to effectively sign the 30-year-old midfielder as a free agent.

The English defender has appeared in six games for the German giants this season.
