Liverpool wants to sign Bayer Leverkusen star, along with Xabi ALonso.

Liverpool are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz in the summer window, according to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur.

The Reds have been rumoured to be interested in Bayer Leverkusen manager Xavi Alonso to replace Jurgen Klopp.

However, Alonso is not the only one from the German side Liverpool are keeping an eye on, as it has been claimed that the Premier League club also want one of their highly rated stars, Wirtz.

It has been suggested that the Reds will have to pay about £100 million for the 20-year old German attacking midfielder.

Bayer Leverkusen are currently sitting at the top of the Bundesliga with 61 points, 8 points ahead of German giants Bayern Munich.

Wirtz has played a major part in Leverkusen having a stellar season. by providing 15 goal contributions in 23 Bundesliga matches.

It will not be easy for Liverpool to acquire him, as other top European clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are keen on him.
